As a professional engineer, senior vertical transportation consultant and manager for the East region of Canada, Martin Ouimet is currently involved in all aspects of KJA’s regional operations. He has consulted on hundreds of projects with individual values ranging up to $100M and is also strategically involved in various national programs for major national real estate and property management firms. As a manager he oversees:

  • New construction and modernization project supervision and management;

  • Maintenance management program supervision

  • Business development and financial management

  • Account management and client relations

In addition to a distinguished list of completed projects, Martin is the lead Vertical Transportation consultant on several major active projects, including some of the largest projects in Canada, including the Ottawa LRT East and West extension, the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, the Ontario Line, Grosvenor Tower and the Halifax QEII Hospital.

Martin has done extensive work in the public sector and on infrastructure projects. Notably, for the past several years he has been, and continues to be, the Program Manager and Prime consultant for the current Infrastructure Ontario provincial elevator capital program, which includes upgrades in ~100 buildings across Ontario, including marquis locations such as Queen's Park, the OPP Headquarters and John Sopinka Courthouse. Martin is also responsible for overseeing the work of environmental, structural, electrical, mechanical, and architectural sub-consultants on this project.

He has been involved with hundreds of other elevator and escalator projects across Canada.

Martin is also the lead consultant on the CBRE/IO elevator consulting services program. This mandate, going on 8+ years now, includes assistance with a portfolio of over 500 elevating devices at Infrastructure Ontario properties. He has inspected thousands of elevating devices, including safety inspections for the federal government.
